Thought you all might be interested in this. I happened to stumble upon it looking for the name of a rum I had recently. The links lead to downloadable PDF's. What do you think of the winner's list? Winners sorted by type of spirit Winners sorted by highest ranking

Some of the ratings seem really weird. Especially the tequilas -- Cuervo got a Gold medal I think. Blech.

El Tesoro won gold. I think they won it back in '05 or '06 too. It's good stuff. Not all liquors are entered into the competition. Brands that can have their 'ultra premium' reputation smashed by judges sometimes decide not to enter. Also, ones that win the competition, usually don't come back for a few years. They usually make really good choices though.

i do not liek the rum the rankings myself, but the cuervo reposado is as good as many of the other reposados that got a gold even better than some, and in the añejo category it is a good as the others that recievec gold.

Ri(1) American Rye Whiskey received a "Double Gold" medal. Something went terribly wrong, here.

Don't get Leopold's getting only a bronze medal for gin. Yes it is very subtle but the flavors are fantastic. I love sipping it on the rocks. Their gold medals for dark rum were almost spot on but I'd give Flor de Cana a better place than silver. I do want to mention T0Z, a good effort but ultimately only palatable with coke.

Four Roses taking top honors, there's a shock.

$9 dollar bottle of vodka from Russia got double gold. I must try this.

That one shocked me too. Also noted that Chopin vodka only took a silver and Canadian Mist whiskey won a double gold medal . I haven't even heard of half of winners before. Can anyone who has tried some of the more obscure brands in the winners category chime in?

99% of the rum that one gold are relativly well known. which ones are obscure besides that one that coems from oregon? the tequilla as well are not obscure in general. which one of those? the calvados names are not obscure nor are the pisco brands mentioned.
