Albums you'll always come back to?

So I was thinking on my subway ride home today...what albums will you always come back to? Either because they defined a certain period in your life or they're just really, really good.

Television, "Marquee Moon"
Dead Kennedys, "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables"
Iggy Pop, "Lust for Life"
NoMeansNo, "Wrong"
Cramps, "Stay Sick!"
Flogging Molly, "Swagger"
Janis Joplin, "Pearl"
Kingston Trio, "Greatest Hits"

Edith Piaf, btw, is a sure-fire hit at dinner parties, at least in my circles.

"To a lone concertina
They drank in cantinas
And toasted to Edith Piaf
And the fall of the Reich."

This is going to look like a "Desert Island Discs," so I'll stick to ten. Aphex Twin, "Drukqs" The Wedding Present, "George Best" The Smiths, "Hatful of Hollow" Kerbdog, "Kerbdog" Napalm Death, "Fear, Emtiness, Despair" Squarepusher, "Go Plastic" Jimi Hendrix, "Axis: Bold as Love" Will Haven, "Carpe Diem" John B, "Trance and Bass" and as much as I hate to admit it Pearl Jam, "Ten"

New Miserable Experience -- the Gin Blossoms. Musically, I am so lame, but it was the soundtrack to a defining summer. "Hey Jealousy" always makes my pulse speed up a hair, and I can smell, hear, and feel a time past. "Tell me do you think it'd be allright if I could just crash here tonight as you can see I'm in no shape for driving and anyway I've got not place to go." "You can trust me not to think and not to sleep around and if you don't expect to much from me you might not be let down" But, with prescience, "The past is gone but something might be found to take its place." Regards, Huntsman

The first two albums I ever bought - Green Day 'Dookie' and Offspring 'Smash', Way back in 4th or 5th grade.

Actually I had an Ace of Bass cassette back in 3rd or 4th grade, but that doesn't count .

Doc,

You've got some seriously eclectic taste. Excellent choices; love that NoMeansNo album.

First of all I listen to music all day and have for most of my 4+ decades on the planet. So any list like this leaves out more than it includes. I was thinking more about recordings I've bought more that one copy of or have bought in several different formats or leave in the car all the time. In no particular order.

Bill Evans Live at the Village Vangaurd
Bill Evans Tony Bennet 1st record
Frank Sinatra Songs for Swingin Lovers
Yes Close to the Edge
Genesis Foxtrot
King Crimson Red
Queen Night at the Opera
Verdi's Requiem (the one with Pavorotti)
Mahler Das Leid Von Der Erde (Horenstien 1972 Descant)
Springsteen Born to Run
Earth Wind and Fire That's the Way of The World
Sibelius Violin Concerto (solerno-sonnenburg)
Radiohead OK Computer
The Meters Anthology
Grateful Dead American Beauty
Pick a Beetles record
Bob Marley Burnin
