Ten albums you'd take to the moon

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, list the ten albums you would take on an extended trip to the moon. Box sets count as one.


1. Purple Rain, Prince
2. Not A Pretty Girl, Ani DiFranco
3. Crash, Dave Matthews Band
4. Beethoven's 9th Symphony
5. A Love Supreme, John Coltrane
6. All Eyes On Me, Tupac Shakur
7. Clouds In My Coffee, Carley Simon
8. Mystical Adventures, Jean Luc Ponty
9. Vivienne Mckone, Vivienne Mckone
10. Message In A Box, The Police

Top 10 would probably be all be classical and jazz because of replay value... ruling those out, the rock albums that immediately come to mind:

Minutemen- Double Nickels on the Dime
Stones - Exile on Main Street
Stooges - Fun House
Replacements - Tim
Clash - London Calling
GBV - Bee Thousand
James Brown- Live at Apollo
Marvin Gaye - Whats Going On
Fugazi - Repeater
New Order - Power Corruption Lies

You have some good stuff in there. Off the top of my head. . . Kind of Blue The River August and Everything After Living in Clip The Best of Nina Simone Legend The Ownerz Like Water for Chocolate Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, Vol. 3 Number Ones (or maybe Whenever You Need Somebody) (I reserve the right to finalize this list at a later date.)
