I saw it on IMAX 3D, doesn't help the plot....although it was better than Avatar in a number of aspects. It was worth it watching it on the 3D, that being said, it could have been a lot better; the plot was trite and the pace was pretty slow for the first half. I did like the score however and thought it was nice Daft Punk used a lot of Moog/Synth as something of a tribute to Wendy Carlos and the original score. Some parts of the score seemed rather unimaginative on their part however, as if they were just watching some recent blockbusters and trying to copy their scores, i.e. Zimmer's work for Inception.

I liked it as I left the theatre, despite the flaws. Now that I think back on it more and more, all I see is wasted potential.

I just saw it and loved it.

I will acknowledge all of the problems this movie had, but really, everything was so pretty and the sound and music was so fantastic that it just kind of made all of the bad point forgivable.

Daft Punk's inclusion was not some cross promotional cash grab. It was a perfect collaboration. I was very impressed.

I thought C.L.U's uncanny valley was very appropriate given the world. Flynn's 80's slang was very funny, even if it is cheesy. I smiled every time he said something.

Did Zeus remind anyone else of David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust? I think that was too coincidental.

Did anyone else think that Bridges was basically just playing The Dude?

I actually thought it was David Bowie the first couple of times I saw the trailer.

If you go into this movie expecting a sequel to a Disney movie that had guys in neon-painted spandex suits and Cooper hockey helmets, you will love this movie (yes, especially in IMAX 3D).

If you're expecting the next ground-breaking cerebral sci-fi action blockbuster a la Matrix, then you probably won't care for this.

Yes, there were tons of unanswered questions and plot holes that thanks to movies like the Matrix, we all have to call attention to, but if you seriously come at this movie with a nostalgic love for the original, you will find this sequel satisfying, especially if you are a Daft Punk fan.

Their collaboration with Joseph Trapanese was a brilliant blending of minimal arpeggiated analog synths and a fairly large orchestra that does sound very similar to Zimmer or the Dark Knight, but it works for the movie. Skywalker Sound also did an amazing job with both the sound and the music (I particularly enjoyed the sub-thumping impact of the lightcycles landing during the arena scene).

Just go into the movie expecting great sound and eye-candy (yes, that was an Olivia Wilde reference too) and you'll be fine.

I'm going to go see it in IMAX 3D again this week.

Right? He even said that the kid was "harshing his mellow", called him "man", and that banging on the sky business. I was expecting him to drink a digital white russian for a minute there.

No, and here's why: rewatch the original, and you'll see that Flynn was also rather hippy-ish, just not in the stoner way that The Dude was. In Legacy, he doesn't act like a pot-head, just a 70s holdover hippy who's been stuck in a computer world for twenty years and thus didn't really grow into the present time.
