Please recommend an iPhone cover

I've got the 3GS, if that makes any difference. I've seen these: http://www.orbino.com/store/index.ph...Csid=undefined , but I don't like the flap (got a removable screen protector).

I'm looking for effective protection as much as style. Any recommendations?

Friends of mine like this, and protects against scratches and scuffs well:

I don't use any protection on my iPhone.

Covers are horrible imo. They always look ugly and they add to the thickness. It's not like you're going to resell the iphone when you are done with it...

I used a case fo the first six months I had mine and took it off for the last month or so because I liked how much thinner and lighter the phone was without the case. Nothing bad has happened. Phone looks fine. I figure if it ever gets really beat up looking....I'll just put the case back on.

Does not add any bulk to the phone. Can barely tell you have a cover on the phone. The screen protector is the best available. Oil from your skin dissipates if you use the anti glare screen protector. Buy them online or at an Apple store.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not really bothered about protecting the phone from scratches, but rather from falls (I'm very clumsy). I got a screen protector (even though the one Despos suggested seems better), and now I might get one of those simple silicone rubber cases. But something in leather which still allows direct access to the screen would perhaps be nicer.

I hate cases, and screen covers even more. The iPhone is so beautiful, I don't like to cover it up. That said, it's a slippery bugger. I only dropped my 3G twice, both no damage. For my 3GS I felt like I had better get a case. I've gone through four and ended up disliking them all except one. InCase Slider. I bought my wife one. She loved it. So, I got one, too. Excellent. Great, tactile feel (black, pink, the titanium and red are metallic feel) and hugs the phone so it still looks like an iPhone. So many are just bulk. It's been on a month. Still liking it. As for screen protectors, forget them. The screen is very strong is very resistant t scratches. I've had three iPhones. In my my pocket with keys at times. Never a nick.

Truth.

I like that cover, Audiophilia. Only problem is, I'd like to buy the TomTom iphone dock (when it finally comes out), so the removable bottom bit would be a bit of a hassle for docking. Sorry, should have specified this earlier.

I agree that most covers are ugly, but the phone is really very slippery, and I'm extremely clumsy. For example, I managed to drop my old Qtek/HTC s110 pocket pc into a (full) teacup. Don't ask.

Im getting one soon. Im interested in getting some fine sand paper and sanding the back down so it's matte. I've seen it done to a Nintendo DS before, and I bet it would work with an iPhone too.

I like these: Wrappers. Got one for my MBP as well, quite happy with it.

I use an InCase (shown above) with a ZAGG screen cover. Best combination, IMO. Thin, good feel, works well and complements the look of the iPHone. I spent about $60 for the two together.

If style is a serious consideration and you can wait while they make it, I'd go for the Vaja.
