The soles appear to be marked "43 -" (I cannot be sure the dash is original but given it appears neatly on both soles I believe it is), and the inside of the right shoe is marked "0008 12 10" and "ALB1" on separate lines.

They are on the U last and were advertised as a 43, which I was concerned might be to small for my foot, so I am trying to verify whether they are a wide fitting or perhaps a 43.5.

Thanks!

43- is a 43.5

That's my understanding as well. I'm not sure if or how a wide fitting is marked differently.

Anyone have measurement they could help me out with?

I have never seen sole marking to indicate size.

Thanks

^ I can do 43.5 for the U last if that's at all helpful. Have you checked the measurements from NMWA?

Which Vass Last is closest to carmina Inca or Rain Last? I would like to buy a budapester, but Im not sure about the last. I have a high instep and rather wide feet, but like the shoes to look sleek just like the carminas. Which Vass last would you recommend?

Thanks for the point to NMWA, it seems there is variation in sizing, even within the same shoe size. We chalk it to the beauty of handmade shoes.
