The Ultimate Vass Porn Thread - Page 501

They don't like to use shell on the Budapest last. I did do the Goyser on a pair of black calf Budapesters-- a mistake, if you ask me. Although they photograph pretty well on the website, the black goyser stitching and the wide sole are hard to distinguish IRL from the upper, so the whole effect is that of a spreading wide of one's feet.

OTOH, a pair of antique cognac budapesters (single sole, welted) on the P2 last satisfies my American notion of "wing-tip" almost perfectly.

Which vass lasts are good for high boots used in the city?

What are peoples thoughts on taking half a size down from the F last calf, to a P2 shell shoe? Rezso quoted that the P2 is 1/4 size larger in the toebox than the F, and reports here are that shell fits looser than calf?

EDIT: I should note, 44.5 on the F last fits me really well in the toebox, which makes me think a same size P2 shoe may be too wide.

I'd go P2 or 3636, especially if its Vibram sole, if its an oxford hi boot, then go with F.

I feel the same way too, although some Vass veterans still take the same size in both lasts. I have a 2 eye calf derby in F in size 42 that fits like a glove. The 42 in P2 last on a shell loafer feels a little roomier in the toe area. It's not a big problem, but being loafers I would've wanted them a bit more snug. I still enjoy wearing them though.

Can't really say, depends I guess. To be honest it's hard for me to tell one last apart from the other

It's easier for me to just distinguish vass from GG

F last - really...looks very pointed and sharp..

The Norweger model adds to that impression with any of their lasts.

Namor--The Norweger boot looks great...that is going to be my next purchase...thinking about doing it in the Radica/Museum leather...

^ that's a great choice however don't overlook the scotchgrain leathers. They suit that particular style very well

The f last and dg70 boot look overly pointy in that pic. I thinks it's from the angle.

A little more perspective
