I never unbuckle any of my monks, single or double. Maybe I'm the one who's doing it wrong, but it's not uncomfortable to do (and definitely more convenient), and it doesn't seem to hurt or strain the shoe

Not at all Fiddler, it's my personal preference not to buckle up (especially on the weekends)...and true what RogerP says about shoes with no laces are effectively - slip-ons....Then again, if you're a guy that never lace-up then all your shoes are slip-ons.... As a kid, all my footwear used to be slip-ons until my dad taught me how to tie my own laces :-)

My single monks have a hidden elastic strip so there's no need to undo the buckle, but my understanding is that Vass don't usually do that.  I've not seen it on a double monk, but personally I'd prefer to have those elasticated too for quick and easy removal.

Interesting; may give this a try after my recent strap breaking.

Wow, that's quite a start.  The tri-cognac really appeal (no surprise) as does the "Boardwalk Empire" pair.

Thank you all for the comments, boots are brown calf on the New Peter Last (P2)

sstomcat, thank you as always, the fit is perfect, simple as that, I liked the black pair so much I wanted to have a brown pair too.

I just can't slip my foot into a Dmonk without undoing a buckle. Unlike loafers which have a lowish vamp to permit a foot to enter, Dmonks don't....and that is the problem for me. Interesting to see that some can do it.

Must have weird feet, or big shoes! :)

I remember this being mentioned before but couldn't find the post so I'll just ask. Pardon me.

Can anyone tell me how much it would cost for vass to topy a pair of shoes? Thanks!
