Great choice, single monks look way better than double monks, your father will love them.

Well, they are Vass...  what isn't special about those shoes?   But seriously, my guess would also be the last?     Anyway, they're awesome.   Wonderful gift, your father will be delighted!

DAINITE SOLES happy.gif. If you look very closely in the first picture you see that the sole is not leather but rubber.

It's difficult to tell from that angle, but it is U

Any chance of a shot perpendicular to bottom? Would be interested to see how they stitch the danite.

I do not get it with the price list. It is completely in line with what I wrote that I paid. A standard calf MTO is €420.
And, basically, all Vass are MTO's if you don not pop into one of their Budapest stores. The great thing is that there is no extra cost for it, the downside is that it takes a bit longer than buying off the shelf.

Strange, I was just quoted 520 EUR for a standard calf MTO with trees and rubber toe tips. When did you last buy yours?

They have spend a great amount of time just to get the rubber sole as elegant as possible. Look at the neatness of it. Does the rubber sole comes extra?

Nice shoes,

Does everyone take the same size in calf as they do suede?

Yep and don't size down, suede doesn't stretch that much, buckskin is only softer to start with in comparison with standard boxcalf.

That's not strange at all - the price of €520 they quoted you is correct.

I have my receipts in front of me to prove this.

Vass has a selection of Ready to Wear shoes which they produce on a monthly basis

and sell for €420 ...they are their bread and butter shoes, mainly made on the Peter;

R; F & U last and the style and colour on these are limited to black, brown and cognac

calf and some other colours. If these RTW shoes are out of stock, you can still order

them at the RTW price of €420.....

For the majority of the popular F; K & U last, with varying colours and design prices are

indeed €520 for MTO....

Cordovan High boots are from €950....

The shoes I ordered at €420 where in mid brown suede and a modified Old English model, so not any of the standard RTW that you refer to.

My most recent experience from late Feb with calf MTO was also 420 for the shoes, but closer to your experience (505) after all incidentals:

Shoes (420) + Trees (30) + Metal toe taps (20) + FedEx to Canada (35) = 505

Total after VAT deduction however: €410
