Thanks gents - yes, the monks are oxblood.  Love the colour.  They only look that red outdoors in direct sunlight.  Indoors they are a very deep black-red, and at night could pass for black.

Vass sizing is so..interesting. I am a US9D and took a 42 in the New Peter Last for a loafer. It was actually a smidge loose but fits very comfortable with no heel slippage.

If I was a US10D I wouldve gone for a 43. So Im surprised a 43.5 fits you great (although I don't doubt it). Would you say you have wide feet?
