You are dead wrong. I have most of the lasts from G&G, EG an many others in 47 (UK 13E) and they are on every list. Only a larger size will show the last's lines and details, smaller sizes are basically a crate for your feet. You should just wear the box or stick with ugly Aldens, Jm, or CH's. IMHO, the box box looks slightly better than the shoes! I am serious.

 

AFAIK, the most 'elegant' size is a 7 D/E for many shoemakers that's making a display shoes. 

 

But I could be wrong.

 

Either way, I doubt people design at size UK 13E and shrink their design for smaller sizes, just like RTW suits are not designed at size 46L and shrank down.

Ok, that was a stupid thing to say on my part, but it's also a very stupid thing to say on your part, nice shoes are nice shoes will always look good and you keep insisting in that box thing, and I guess it depends on the proportions too, I'm 5'9 and 150 pounds, if you are size 47 I guess you are a tall guy. I would look weird in a size 47 and you would look strange too in a 41.

But the original comment was not about sizes or lasts, it was about how ugly they are.

You are correct. No malice here, I am 6' 2" and 195 pounds. So, these lasts are nice and look better in larger sizes. I agree about some of their leather and color choices. Some hedious, but are presented to display the range of tastes that shoe makers must market to to maker a living.



Chogall, the reason they make 7 d/e and small suits is for modeling and cost purposes. The fashion industry dictates smaller sizes as they do with polemic female models. You should know that fashion is never STYLE. By the way, modeling sizes are 9.5 for shoes and 40 Reg. for suits. Does not make them look better.
