The Ultimate Vass Porn Thread - Page 289

I think what i'll do is ask my friend to measure the popular sizes (40-44) and last (F,U,K,P2) for a start. At the very least, we have an early indication to what the measurements are.

Hopefully Vass would allow their last to be measured.I just think his would really help people in their sizing on top of comparing it with other lasts from other brands.

Oh crap, can we make it 40-45? biggrin.gif

1 more size wont hurt smile.gif

Are you going to ask your friend to do half sizes as well? 40,40.5, etc. I hope that Vass will be open to the idea.

I will.I myself am a 41.5 on the F-last.I think I will ask him o do the F lasts first and slowly more to other lasts.Hopefully Vass is receptive to the idea, especially if it helps boost sales for them.

I was wondering would it help forum members to determine their sizes if someone took the measurements of the lasts (U,F,K ,P2 etc.)  in the sizes offered by Vass  based on the following:

1) Width
2) Length
3) Toes
4) Instep
5) Arch; and
6) Through the heel

This is illustrated in this picture (though measurements will betaken on a last rather then on an actual foot as illustrated below).

I have a friend in Budapest whose studio is just 10 minutes away from the Vass shop and he is willing to help me out on this. Was just wondering whether this would be helpful in helping to determine the sizing for Vass or will it be a waste of time.

tbh, i don't think so...

Fritzl, I'm interested to hear your opinion on this project smile.gif do you think Vass would be receptive to it?

from what i've read and what people told me via pm it's absolutely the case.

one source of failure is that people buy with their eyes instead what their feet demand. if you start with a complex last and a complicated mto your chances to fail are bigger than otherwise.

keep it simple with your first order and go from there. rule of thumb: a wingtip is easier to fit than a cap toe. the guys at vass know their product well and can help you on that.

Absolutely true.  Had experience with the same last but wingtip fits much better than cap toe due to the toe cap stitching not yielding to my feet.

Oxblood in that style is up there with the nicest shoes in all Christendom.  BTW re: sizing-  I've definitely noticed some settling and stretching over time, so if you go too tight you might be okay if you're just patient.
On the other hand if yo go too loose it's usually nothing that a nice leather insert won't fix. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I have 3 Vass lasts in 2 diff sizes and am quite happy with the variety.  When I want something smaller, with a sharper suit, I'll use the smaller shoes, but when I wear something more casual, or with a wider trouser hem, I'll go for the larger size.  This may seem odd, but it works for me.  As a matter of fact I like having the shoes slightly large because the leather insert cushions my step.

oh thank you lord.
