Brokerage is a huge F.....service scam that carriers enter and subtly try to let on that is part of mandatory customs clearing. It's the equivalent of a store clerk charging you a brokerage fee to fill out a purchase request.


Thanks for that, I might try this next time.
The only problem is I never know which carrier will get the local delivery in New Zealand.

Although I'm slowly learning which companies have ageements with which, it'd be much easier if it were just one company that delivered from door to door.

I guess I could email the original company and find out.

Thank Xenon. I didn't know that.

I am in total agreement with Hendrix, about duties and taxes.

Will most likely place my order once I get the VAT deducted price, and then I have to factor in my bank's fee for wire transfers...arghh

FWIW, when I communicated with a broker in the past (FedEx), the individual reported that custom keeps the importer's information (i.e., tax ID) for 12 months.

If you have feet around a 9.5 US or smaller should be very nice looking. If bigger than that I'd go for 5 eyelet or the shoes may start to appear a bit tube-like.

^ Saw those, they look great, I wanted to see the proportions of a smaller size such as a 41 because I assumed your pair was around a 43, but couldn't really find anything on google

The jeans are slim straight, about an 8 inch hem, and these are size 41 if that helps.


If I was ordering again I'd go for the single sole rather than the single-to-double taper.

For reference I am typically a US 9, 8.5/9E in EG (82 last) and wear a 42.5 in the U last and 42 in the F. Most postings in Vass related threads here suggest this to be the case. The convention seem to also suggest taking the same size in F and New Peter. So, I am unsure of why it was suggested you go up half a size in the New Peter. Of course this should not necessarily as gospel depending on your actual foot shape.
