Hello Gentleman!

Since this is my first post, I wanted to make it relevant with substance.  My new MTO addition and counting. Not the greatest pics and angles, some artificial and natural lighting.

It is actually Fiddleback. It came earlier in shoe lexicon.
Beveled was coined more recently by some SFrs.

Gotcha. Regardless, I believe Vass knows it as beveled waist in terms of ordering.

well an inspired choice-  they really do look fantastic.

Love it when someone puts a 'chunky' style with a sleek last.  Counterintuitive, but sometimes the results are oustanding, like the pair of U Norwegers posted early in the thread.  There's a pic of the same style-last combo in Antic-Cognac shell somewhere, which is also one of my fav ever Vass looks.

Nah-  Slew was on the money.  Vass doesn't do a fiddleback, which is a pronounced ridge in the middle, like the neck of a violin.

they'll only bevel the edge of the waist

Like I said Beveled is a new term by you SFers. Read more, learn first, relearn, then talk.

Another arrogant, if that "fiddleback" means that horrendous things that some do with the soles, there's nothing uglier than a Vass shoe with that shit, that's for delicate and girly shoes ala G&G. Every time I see one of those ascot shoes w that thing makes me cringe.

lol you're a pretty annoying troll.

Bevelled waist is different from a fiddleback. Fiddleback is the bult up section in the middle of the shoe, i think it's inspiration comes from cowboy boots. G&G does a nice version.

Bevelled waist is the tapering of the welt at the waist to an invisible stitch welt that adds to the sleekness of a dress shoe. It looks good on F and U, not so much on the more traditional lasts.

Please refrain from insults Mr. Ultra Maroon. You can voice your opinion without insulting others.
G&G calls their fiddleback as well and their Deco line is described as such.
