Does Vass offer a re-crafting service for when you need your soles replaced? And what's the pricing like?

Something we don't see here often, F last penny loafer in dark brown shell. I wear them in the same size as my Vass oxfords and fit is very nice. (I tried downsizing a half size but it did not work).

I got some PMs regarding loafer sizing for Vass. Here's some sizing info that I can share with you. The guys who have U last loafers told me they downsized a half size for them to fit well (FYI these guys upsized a half size for their U last oxfords. For example, someone might wear F last 42.5, have U last oxfords in 43, and fit well in U last 42.5 loafers).

For F last, I use the same size for oxfords and loafers. Hope that helps.

I need chukkas, what do we think of this combo? I'd be wearing with chinos or jeans, can't dress up more than that at my office. U last single sole style: "86 boot" bordeaux shell cordovan I want to make these my stompers and need something super versatile. I want shell and am not sure if bordeaux is too unique. Maybe black would be better? Does anyone have a listing of the shell colors Vass offers? This is the shoe as currently envisioned (pic from edmorel):

Interesting. I have the off-the-shelf Norwegger (Peter last I think) in 44 and found the 44 U last to be a bit more roomy. I'm not sure if to go 43.5 or stick with 44 in U last.

i cannot stand chukkas most of the time. vass has a variety of ankle boots, which are much nicer in my personal point of view.

why a single sole for stompers?

bordeaux is a wonderful colour and in my pow very versatile. actually, i expand my numbers in different shades.

for jeans and denim i prefer half brogue derbies.

PB there's an array of shell colours at #749 (page 50) and at #1201.

It's not shell but for my $ the dark cognac - kind of a deep burgundy - is most versatile

+1 on what upprcrust said in the shoe pron central thread - all shells blend into one colour with use - but I'd say the darker it is the more versatile .

And re: sizing .. it's a boot so it's going to stretch by at least a half size pretty quickly - i've only just started to take this into account - a pair of P2s I got a year ago were so tight I just about gave up on them, but now they fit me like a glove, whereas some that fit perfectly a year ago are now laced up to the limit.

Funny, I have a similar experience on P2 and U fit - I find the P2 as narrow if not narrower than the U last at the balls of my feet.

Good luck - it'll be a stunner whatever

Thanks luk-cha. So, about $300 USD per shoe? Does that include shipping both ways?

Surely it is not that much. That would approach the cost of a new pair.
