How would you describe the difference between the U and the K last ?

 

I there a difference in overall lenght between F, U and K* last for the same size ?

 

 

* hopefully, the don't have a "c" last, it would have been tricky... just kidding...

Here are my spectators in K last; from my perspective, the main difference I see is that the K has a slight rise in the toe box. Otherwise, very similar to the U. I'm not a big fan of the K, thinking of selling these (new and unworn).

With the HUF hovering around 250-245 to the USD that puts a standard calf shoe at ~$455. Shipping still stinks at 100 EUR to the US but I'm thinking if we could get an order of ~4 pairs we could split shipping and come out well under $500/pair. Is anyone interested?

In Canada duty/customs is 18% for men's shoes. Women's are 11%.

what is everyone else's experience with custom charges? I live in Connecticut and im going to budapest next week to hopefully get a pair of vass. I'm anticipating them not having my size in stock so they will probably have to make them. I dont want to get stuck with $300 dollar customs charge though. what are everyone's experiences and what are my options?

From what I've gathered, it's unpredictable. If the customs guys are paying attention and need to fill up their quotas they may impose the charges. If it's something that doesn't seem like it's worth their time then they won't. Basically, it's a risk and you're not guaranteed one way or another. Just another reason why I like to use Kolecho on the board here.

As a regular seller of Vass shoes on the forum could be helpful:

There are ways to avoid custom fees, one of them being to declare a lower value. When they do open your package and they find a pair of shoes inside, they have absolutely no idea about the price. If you declare a value of let's say 140$, they will not impose taxes, and if they do (which never happens), it will not be much.

I have sent and received a great number of packages and never had to pay any taxes, nor did the recipients.

Off course, it is possible Vass doesn't want to declare a lower value.
