BTW, the 3636 last looks almost identical to the Peter, even though it's much wider.

I'm wearing a pair of 3636 Norwegians today (antik Cognac calf) they are more or less my favorite casual shoes.

Glad you're enjoying the 3636. I like the look of it, but fear it might be too wide for me. I can wear the Budapest last, but the 3636 seems even wider. I could be wrong though.

Ok guys I need help. I've read ever page of this thread and came to one conclusion....I need some Vass!

Im going to Budapest next month so im definitely going to visit the store. What can I expect? Ive heard they dont have a big selection, and my feet are an 11UK so they probably wont have lots of stuff in my size to choose from.

Question 1: How much do the shoes in the F and U lasts cost?
Question 2: Will the be able to measure my foot and order the model I like in my size?
Question 3: does this cost extra?

The bottom two pairs are both Budapest Oxfords on the U last. I *think* the last pair is in Bordeaux calf.

well done. imo, the budapester and the 3636 are their most authentic lasts.

you might be right. although, from my personal experience the music plays along the heel and the instep. the toe width doesn't worry me too much as there's the possibility to reduce the overall volume.

From the heel to the ball of the foot, they are basically the same on my foot. For me, the only difference is in the shape of the toe, where the Budapester has a bit more wiggle room. Like the Budapester, the 3636 is also quite short in the toe-- its only real flaw in certain applications. That might be what's making it look too wide to you.

3636 does well not only in the Norweger (and the American-style loafer), but makes decent Oxfords, albeit not as graceful or English as the F. The Peter last Oxfords on the Vass-Cipo site give an idea of the look.
