Is the width across the ball of the foot the same or is the P2 wider?
The PII is wider - than the F last. I have tried both the P2, P3 and F last.

The P last is Vass refined facelift to their traditional budapester last, without
compromising on the width and comfortable fitting. Personally I find the P last
more appealing than the hammer head Budapester Last.

Yup, I'm unsure of the difference. Right now it just seems like a difference in the degree of customization.
You're correct - with shoes there probably 3 types of orders: RTW; MTO and Bespoke...

More recently you have Cleverleys coming out with Semi-bespoke. Gods know what that means.
To me, if it's already made and comes in your size, then it's a RTW....everything else is PR spin to
justify price hikes. .

Quote:
RTW is styles produced en-mass on standard lasts.
MTO is styles produced to order, with last/materials/sole/etc chosen by the purchaser.
MTM is styles produced to order, with last/materials/sole/etc chosen by the purchaser, as well as the ability to make alternations to an existing last (I am unsure of what restrictions are placed on these alterations.).
Bespoke is starting a last from scratch.

What's your take on the P3?

I have a couple pairs on the F. I also like the look of the P2 and the fact that it is a touch wider. What is the instep like on the P2? High?Low?

F has a slightly higher instep than P2, don't have others.

By the way - this is a comparison of U, F and P2 from the Shoegazing blog

Its 600 euros. You get your feet measured and the last will be altered accordingly; at least this was what Mr Vass told me. Below are some pictures I took when I was there.
This MTO is still pretty low cost compared with other brands.

I hate to be bothersome with strange fit questions, but can anyone comment on the fit differences between the AE 5 last and the U last?

They seem to have the same profile on paper.

They are quite different. U has a high instep, AE 5 has a low instep. U has very little toe room, AE 5 has plenty. AE 5 toe shape is more like F last, U last is square / chiseled.

Considering a Budapest last norweger loafer in scotch grain. Any thoughts from the gentlemen here in goyser sewing on this and double versus single sole?
