When I ordered, in my mind was full GW, I never thought otherwise, so I didn't speak out "full", it end up this way.

Vass standard Goyser welt treatment does not go all the way around. Look at the catalog shots.

PG, You've inspired me...I ordered a pair of these today.

The question in my mind is: Does PG specify closer cut sole or is he going with a standard VASS protruding bumper-car sole? To me it looks like he choose a close-cut one, but I might be wrong. It is hard to tell from the pics.

Standard welt on PG's shoes. And you are right to imply this..... pics don't show the true beauty of these "bumper car" welts

BTW, your Norwegians are on New Peter last, not Peter.

I saw standard welt and was surprised and put-off by how large it looked.
Does it look different on different size U-last shoes?
I have a close cut U-last and it looks, from the pics, identical to PG's shoes.
Again , from your experience does the welt shows more on larger sizes?
Perhaps I should consider ordering a regular welt from now on, since it does look good on PG's pics.

I have handled many pairs, and the welt never strike me as obnoxiously prominent even at large sizes (largest I have handled are size 45 plus), especially on a double tapering to single sole. It is, however, a different aesthetic from English shoes on single thickness soles.
