Fantastic!  I have a similar pair, and they are THE shoes that garner the most compliments out in the world.  Hope you are enjoying yours.

Back to my main question, does anyone have the Budapester derby on the F last?

Saying that AE doesn't do burgundy well is one thing - matter of individual opinion.  Saying that burgundy should not be used on any shoe except shell - that's quite another.  Vass' Oxblood and Bordeaux are both really beautiful shades, IMO.

Sorry - I have no F last Budapester pics for you.  I actually prefer that style of shoe on the more substantial (blobby seems unkind) P2 last.  "Sleek Budapester" strikes me as something close to an oxymoron.  Not that the shoe wouldn't look good - the F last has lovely proportions - it would just look a little less like my idea of a Budapester.

gyasih - the plum austerity brogues are terrific.

Who said I don't like the P2 last? I'm exploring my options. The P2 looks to be the cousin the F. The main difference seems to be the wider toebox in the little toe area. The tips have the same roundness

I give up - who said you don't like the P2 last?  I expressed a preference for it in a Budapester.  That is all.

F-last budapester via No Man Walks Alone.  Magnificent it is too.  As Greg said, that's his preference, and on the site you'll also see his preferred P2 for the U-cap and Alt Wien.

The budapester here is an oxford, though.   I don't know if you're prefer a more traditional last in a more traditional (derby) budapester?

After reading this thread, just want to ask if the F-last double monk tends to run a size bigger?

For me, I have UK9E in Edward Green 202, UK9F in G&G MH71 & UK9E in George Cleverley.

There is people suggesting 43 wide fit in F-last, but shall I turn to 42.5 wide if in Vass double monk?

Thanks a lot!

You almost certainly don't need a wide fitting.
