Vass's various "cognac" colours are confusing as hell. I was really expecting you to say 6319. I swear they have them mixed up themselves sometimes on their own website, and I'm certain the "Ascot Shoes" listings muddle them even more. How to order when you don't know what colour's what?
(Anyway, that's a great colour and suits the shoe)
It's not Vass, so why here?.
But while we're at it, in my view, if a retailer asks customer to sign up to a narrow set of parameters for a group order, it's not exactly MTO either. MTO means choice. This is one colour, in two shapes, and your size. That's not MTO, it's barely more than a colour-way. Reminds me of Allen Edmonds' "Web Gems", except they normally do at least a couple of colours.
And, noting the wording, the really meaningful point on this is that despite being "MTO", it will not be "hand grade". Just using some lasts that the hand grade collections and MTO usually use. They do look like lovely shoes, and I'm very pleased with my bench grade Alfred Sargents. But they were 115 Euros in a clearance. Would I have paid £500? Would I fuck.
