Talking about price... don't you all order them directly from Vass? If so, how come you are surprised by the price?
I live 10 minutes from them and I wouldn't mind proxying a few pairs if needed.

Cheers

Léo

The last time I was in the store, Vass gave 10% off when paid in cash, which increased to 15% off when the orders are more than 1 million forints in cash (6 to 7 pairs). The P2 last is an attractive option for those wishing to save an additional 20% from the U and F last.

'closing' = when the various pieces of the upper are stitched together. this is done by machine

also with bespoke. there are very few models e.g. norweger, where handwork is involved.

thank you for helping me out.

^ Lovely stuff! The P2 last looks great there and I kind of regret not having a pair on my recent incoming order. Would you say the medium brown suede came out true-to-in-real-life in the photos? I ask because my pair in that color looks much more lighter and more tan/tobacco.

Thanks! I think the third photo portrays the colour best. It is rather dark, but it has a tan/tobacco shine in it. Actually rather beautiful, but I expected it to be a bit brighter as well! Oh and the P2 is a Godsend for my feet, which are a bit wider than most. Must. Have. More.

My first pair ever came in today. Let Manton rejoice for they are conservative business dress.

nice reverse shoe lace tie. appears to be half a size too big...

Why do you say that TD? The complete closing of the lacing perhaps? Shoes are always hard to get the width/instep issue satisfied. Looking at the width on those shoes they look a good fit IMO and the creasing looks okay too.

TRINI, I just received the exact same shoe, but on the U-Last. Did you request close cut soles? They look very close for standard Vass production.

awsm Trini, these are classics. i remember reading Manton's a bit exxentric re: conservative business dress shoes - a penchant for rustic e.g. pebble derbies .

I know Trini has wide feet - and I know the Vass lasts (having wider feet myself and having tried on various lasts/Sizes at the Vass store) - if he can get these to close, they are slightly long, as vass RARELY makes wider shoes (they have for vonRothbart in the past).

Also, on the right shoe in the photo where the shoe is being worn, there is room by the right lateral ankle, a space between the foot/leg and the shoe.
