There is an extra charge for the Vass 3-piece trees and they are not always readily available.

One should expect to pay for quality.

I remember Kuti told me a while back they had some troubles with the 3 pieces shoe trees supplier so they cannot provide them anymore ..

From research, I understand my stereotypical size (extrapolating from Rain) would be from 8.5UK Rain to 42.5 F last (correct?). Do any of you with a slightly high to high instep go another half size up (so in my case, to 43)?

TIA!

I am 8.5UK Rain and 42.5 F and U.

(Also 8.5UK Simpson)

Might be better going up a width than half size in length. Or try and get a hold of a 42.5 to try on first.

I'd be a 9 Simpson tho. I'm 9 uetam. Still say 42.5?

If you can fit Simpson and Uetam I would suggest the F last instep will not be a challenge for you.

But in a 9, so should I go 43?

I don't fit like most people typically do, due to a low instep and slender midfoot.  I basically have to size down as much as I can without crushing my toes.  Elongated lasts serve me best in smaller sizes.  I don't want to say for sure.

Someone taking a 9UK will confirm vs the other lasts you mentioned.

Fair enough - thanks for your input! I appreciate it.

I'm about to order my first pair of Vass boots, an F last Oesler in brown. I'm considering burnished toes/heels without a military shine, recommended or not?
