The Ultimate Vass (Footwear) Thread (Pictures, reviews, sizing, etc...) - Page 1243

Will post it soon as a I get 'em.

By the way, for the Galways, I think most of us here prefer speed hooks rather than eyelets? What do you think?

Anyone have pics of their plain toed Vass after some wear? Trying to see how a Vass ages with wear
post #18633 of 20222

Hi,

I'm relatively new to this forum. I've been lurking for a little while now and have done tons of reading, especially on footwear.

This has led me to purchase my first pair of Vass shoes, which I received recently. Loving them so far!

Anyways, just wanted to say thanks to everyone that provided valuable information that helped me with my purchase, especially @jokb who I purchased the shoes from. Great person to deal with.

I look forward to learning more and hopefully, contributing in any way I can.

that shell valway was made in the spirit of the eg galway; upper is made from a single piece of material. the "captoe" is faux captoe stitching

the pair of trickers on the right are captoes (a seperate piece of leather creates the captoe)

the valway boot wears and creases like a plain toe. if i infer from GuP's post, he wanted to see how a plain toe (made from a single piece) ages. i hope the pic helps

It was the shell aspect I referred to. I had a feeling it was faux stitching.

Massdrop Vass Theresainer boots showed up today. My first pair of Vass and I'm very pleased. Can't wait to wear them. Lighting not good in my LR so a couple photos with and without flash.

If anything, shell isn't going to give any insight into how calf plain toes will look after wear but really, I was just saying they were anything but plain.

If you don't mind, what was the final price through MD? I missed the first run, and they removed the price. Great boots BTW. DL-
