The Ultimate Vass (Footwear) Thread (Pictures, reviews, sizing, etc...) - Page 1192

I could also use some help sizing the P2 last. Vass sizing seems to be all over the place. 12D/E brannock. I'm a 11UK in almost everything (363MOD, Carmina oscar, C&J 325 and 335), 11.5D Alden barrie and trubalance, 12D alden grant, and 11.5 viberg 2030. Trickers w2298 fitting 5 in 11UK is a tad narrow for me. Best fitting lasts are probably 11.5D barrie or 11UK C&J 325.

From what I can gather, I'm probably a 45 or 45.5 on P2. Thoughts? Thanks gents.

She's pretty tolerant of my Vass habit, so if I can find a pair for her, it's all good.

On both counts, she's a keeper!

I was told here a couple of times from a respected member that I could size down or up 0.25 while ordering MTO. I thinking it was member @ozzyjones (Sorry if I am wrong). who advise me so from his direct experience(I understand)
I stand correct. Sorry & Thanks for the info.

I've ordered mixed sizes multiple times. 43.5 right foot, 43.25 left foot.

I have a rather high instep, so probably the best fitting last I've come across is Enzo Bonafé's 363MOD.  Carmina Rain fits fairly well but a bit wide in the heel.  Anyhow, here are some of my other sizes:

Enzo Bonafé 363MOD and 804: 9.5UK
Carmina Rain: 9.5UK
Allen Edmonds 65 last (park ave, strand, etc.) 10.5E US
Alden Barrie: 10D
Viberg 2045: 10
C&J 335 Last: 10E UK
C&J 365 Last : 9E UK

I was thinking 43.5 on the P2 last might be my best bet?

My sizing is similar but I have narrow feet and low instep. 43 on the P2 fit fairly well. You'd probably do better with 43.5 if you have high insteps. But it's really hard to say, so look back through this thread at sizing discussions and be prepared to guess wrong.

Three more buyers and we're at twenty.

When you look at other 3rd-party retailers I'm curious to know how Massdrop can sell Vass boots for $500 incl U.S. shipping and still make a profit. That's around $200-$300 less than the other guys.

I had a request via PM for a pic comparing Vass mid brown suede to Alfred Sargent snuff suede so I figured I might as well post it here too. Here 'tis:

The Vass is slightly more reddish with a little deeper depth of color, IMO.

I agree with you.  Both shoes really nice. Congrats.

Darn it fred...just when I set my mind on the dark brown you post those mids...is it as nice of a color in person? You mid brown seems a bit darker than those posted on that drop site. Whose photos are closer to reality?

Did it allow for specifying different widths once you get through the order process?

I think it is just the lighting. My pics were taken indoors with incandescent light and their pics are outdoors in natural light. I think both are pretty accurate and just reflect the different lighting conditions. I did set the white balance in my camera off of a gray card before taking the pic, so the color should have been reasonably accurate anyway.
