Murlsquirl, with all due respect, I've been defending myself against insults and completely inappropriate comments from RogerP, jazzsol, etc etc. Arguing, disagreeing, discussing: all fine. Insulting, name calling, condescending comments: NOT COOL. And you choose the use of a single word in one of MY posts: morons, as if that's the cause of the problem here. Please go back and read the whole thread since I posted, and then tell me that you feel these others behaved appropriately.

PM me your issues. I see plenty of sarcasm...nothing insulting.

I assume I am included in the above, but I didnt want to get lost in the shuffle and thought it should be noted that I was involved as well...

You're questioning the intelligence of others in less than artful terms, and calling them ignorant.

How about let's streamline this whole hubbub, eh? @agoodeye what is it that you're hoping to accomplish with this discussion? From what I can tell, this is the exact same discussion (with remarkably *cough sarcasm cough* similar results) as what was featured in the specific thread you made to address the issue.

I still don't understand what the overarching point is...you've mentioned your lack of satisfaction for the price. That is your prerogative, and nobody is faulting you for that. Others, as is their prerogative, do not agree. There's really nothing more to discuss...

This would seem the most apt solutions around:

1. Do not purchase from Vass at all, whether direct or through a middleman.

2. Try a different, more price friendly middleman.

3. Buy direct from Vass, which obviously would include the hassle (depending upon geography) of going to Hungary. It's something I would do (though I'm a strange one)

4. Continue along the exact same path, and accept the issues you've noted.

Honestly, without trying to be a jerk (truly, though I can come off harsh), I sincerely do not know what else you'd be hoping to accomplish. The discussion is getting so tired that even the voyeuristic entertainment qualities are waning...

There will be more Vass chukkas in my future.  In fact, when I retire and have less need of formal business suits I fully expect to be in chukkas and boots pretty much allatime.

It's increasingly clear that he simply wants to argue. He brandishes this "article," presumably to rub our noses in how wrong we all are to appreciate Vass shoes. I can't think of another rational explanation for his behavior, other than to troll for a flame war.

That's "mid brown," similar to carmina tobacco.

Since this has been mentioned would like to know why Vass leaves tack holes at the heels of their shoes and makers such as EG and others don't leave tack hole marks. Would appreciate if someone can go into details about tack holes marks in relation with lasting. Is there any benefits having tack holes mark in the heel vs those that doesn't?

Are tack holes part of hand lasting while those that have not machine lasted?or are tack holes also used in machine lasting as well?
