The Ultimate Vass (Footwear) Thread (Pictures, reviews, sizing, etc...) - Page 1132

I'd seen it before, but I had sort of forgotten about this cool little video NMWA had posted about Vass construction a year and a half ago. Reposting just in case anyone hadn't seen it.

I was looking through some of my YouTube subscriptions. I guess I had subscribed to their YouTube channel after that one video, and then they never posted any more.

you are correct, 40- means 40.5

F last. The U was a bit too narrow for me.

I have a slightly wide ball,  instep and egyptian toes and the F last in 42.5 UK  is snug in the ball and instep area but my toes are fine, so I was thinking to size up 0.5 for the U last (as many members do here).

Do you mean that even sizing up 0.5 from F to U last the fit is too narrow?.  Thanks in advance.

I think if you find the ball and instep area snug then 43 U should be a good fit. Might be a bit sloppy at the heel tho

Why not just go wider instead?

I'm not sure. I tried on a bunch of diff lasts but all in the same size.

Vass Shoegazing "Sarek" boot. Like a tall slipper with the very supple veg tanned leather and single Dainite.

Going to the shop tomorrow to order the same boot but in normal calf leather. What last is the photo on? Thinking of getting the F last. Also looking to get their Single Monk in the same last - but can't decide on the calf colour. Need to make up my mind by tomorrow.

P2. Really depends on how casual you want the boot and which last works for you. There were some great photos of the F last version posted on IG (before and after Niklas' polishing). I do like that Vass is going with the actual cap and a higher V to the back for the Sarek. I don't get the heel slip on these that I do on some Galways.

Yeah, that is another problem to take into account. My heel is not to wide and I was thinking to get the DMs.:freeze:

Maybe I should get them in the F last to be sure. Tired of returning shoes here and there.

Thanks Ozzy.
