The scotchgrain chukkas that were just posted on the Vass Instagram page look pretty great!

@j ingevaldsson, are these also for the Shoegazing event?

Im not sure if it is the photo in particular or that pair but that is the best example of their scotchgrain execution.  Looks amazing.

Yes you're correct, it was an assumption. Still think it's right, but only Ktown knows. I'm not sure how your cobbler did it, but as I described you have to do it in a different way then when you stretch shoes regularly. You basically have to wet the whole shoe through (since if you only wet the toe area it's a big risk for water marks) and the cobbler needs to have stretchers fitting the shoe quite well in the forepart. But yes it can be done, I know since I've had it done myself by my cobbler, and know other's who have as well (not on Vass shoes, but on shoes with leather toe stiffener). Of course you can't stretch the stiffener as much as for example the ball area though, but a little bit of stretching and/or reshaping can be done.
I can also confirm this as possible. Picked up my U-last boots from the cobbler today, stretched just to accomodate my toes better in the box.

I am happy to hear that, seriously, but I failed (do not know if shell+goyser has something to do).

Possible. Mine are in calf and no goyser.

Yeah those look really great! I think that's just a regular MTO, nothing made for the event.

An update on the new last(s) Vass are working on, things haven't run super smooth, but they are looking to at least launch one new one in the near future (the aim was for the super trunk in Stockholm, but don't think they'll manage that). They've worked with several different ones, not sure which one that is close to being something they'll launch.

Thanks for the update!

Quick update, I have decided to go for a double monk and Valway instead of the shell Valway. I love shell, but the two pairs I have currently aren't getting much wear so getting another pair doesn't seem like a smart move. Here are the pics I sent to Vass of what I wanted. The monk will be on the F last and the boot on the P2. Boots will have double leather sole with the 270 goyser welt. Monks will have single leather for easy break in and hopefully lots of wears. Will update with pics when I get them.

Oh and for this one it's the boots on the left with the scotch grain shaft.
