So ... what to order next? Thinking ahead to winter, what kind of Vass styles do you all wear? Does Vass do a fur lined boot? Bellows tongue?

I can't get over the finishing on those tankers. Unreal.

Unfortunately, they don't do bellows tongue either. Asked about that about 6 months ago

Ok, I guess I'm striking out on both those ideas. Maybe some sort of high boot with a Commando (the lugged Vibram version Vass uses) sole, goyser welt, etc. I didn't really care about the fur lining but I was sorta hoping for bellows tongue though. Any other favorite Vass designs suitable for slush/snow?

Yeah, they really did a great job with the finishing on these! The depth of color on the "red brown" suede is hard to capture in a photo too, but it really is a great color as well. My last Vass purchase was a pair of scotch grain Norwegers, so with that and these two boots, I'm ready for fall to arrive!

Yeah, it would be great to know if they did something that we can request when they finished those split toe boots.

And on the subject of museum calf, I have two pairs: one from Meermin, one from Carmina. I don't claim any expertise, but I find that both of them have a more wrinkly texture than calf--even before wearing. It's difficult to know what each of us is specifically talking about in terms of the texture, but in my experience at least, some amount of unevenness is "normal" with museum.

I have their scotch grain high boot on vibram commando sole, no goyser tho. They look like they'll take some abuse

I have 3 museum calf from Vass and 1 from Bonafe. I don't really notice much difference with the Vass museum calf, but the Bonafes in bracken museum are definitely a little more "wrinkly" and perhaps thinner than most of my other shoes. That's my only pair of Bonafes so I can't really compare it to Bonafe calf.

@andrel42

Nice austerity brogues, man! Are they on the U last?

@Fred G. Unn

What leather and last is that tanker boot on? Freaking unreal, dude. Nice work. Would love a shot of them in natural light (outdoors, if possible) to get a better sense of the color.

Thanks, they are on the P2 in antic cognac calf. I'll try to get an outdoors pic later this afternoon.

Those tankers are just BEAUTIFUL! - I'm not too familiar with Vass and looking for a new boot: what style are they, if I wanted to reference them? Are those Cordovan?

Thanks! Model 1090, antic cognac calf (not shell, but check out pics of @Shouldaville's awesome shell version on this thread), P2 last, double leather sole, metal toe plate, no speed hooks, blind eyelets, 270 goyser welt, etc...
