I've experienced the same thing with a pair of EGs. No big deal in my opinion, and yours is barely visible tbh.

It's just museum calf. Others are being more diplomatic but my view is museum calf is not of equivalent quality to the leathers otherwise used by Vass or other premium makers. It's somewhat thin and can display inconsistencies such as that above.

I disagree. My two pairs of Vass museum impress as being of bettter quality than their calf equivalents. Certainly more soft and supple.

I think Ron Rider confirmed this, museum calf indeed is thinner than regular calf leather but that is just the feature of that leather. I do not know about inconsistencies though.
My pair of brown museum calf from Vass was great.

I would be ecstatic if mine looked even close to those without inconsistencies.

It's not like we haven't seen "inconsistencies" in Vass calf from time to time. I don't see any basis upon which to conclude that Vass museum is more prone to such inconsistencies than other types of leather.

If there is any aspect of my museum calf Vass that is inferior in any way to their calf counterparts I have not been able to perceive it. Indeed, as I said, the museum uppers present as being more soft and supple.

I believe Vass uses the same museum supplier as JL. (now that Illcea are back from bankruptcy)

Let me tell you all that I am a Vass customer for LIFE now. Not only are the following shoes gorgeous and perfect, but after an expensive and excruciating search through RTW, I have found a last that fits me as if it were bespoke. Now the only question is, do I try other lasts, or stock with Peter 2 for life????

Not as bulbous or clunky as I would have thought for a 44 H !!!

Now must I sell off my favorite AEs and MTO Vass versions???

Boots arrived yesterday!

So ... what to order next? Thinking ahead to winter, what kind of Vass styles do you all wear? Does Vass do a fur lined boot? Bellows tongue?
Vass doesn't do fur lining unfortunately. They only offer the regular vegetable tanned lining. I asked about it a couple weeks ago.
