I'd imagine (am pretty confident) that the U last will have a lot less room in the toe box than 3636 to the point you might have to size up. Hopefully someone with more experience than me will chime in.

U last double monks would look sharp. Between the 3636 and U last depending on how wide your feet are, you might have to go down half a size or a full size (if you went up in size to fit in the U last.)

Below is a U last double monk.

I imagine a 42 in the U last would fit since the shoes I posted a pic of are a size 42. I sized down to a 41.5 for the 3636 which felt a touch roomy in the toe box both vertically and horizontally.

You might even fit in 41 if you tried the 3636 when your feet had already expanded (fitted it in the evening)

Width up, don't size up. But beware higher instep too.

Because it's off the books? Then you lose the VAT refund.

It's inconceivable to me that someone wouldn't collect the proper tax. 😆

After wearing these guys for a couple months I am feeling discomfort still from the right shoe only. It feels too tight, mostly in the toe box. The left shoe feels fine. Can I take these to a cobbler and ask him to stretch the right shoe slightly? Keep in mind these are shell and a wingtip.
