As requested - the double monk is U and the S is oxford. I dont have a U last oxford but understand that the instep of the U is similar to the K. My K last oxford has certainly higher instep than the S last. I would say that the S last has similar instep as the F and certainly not as low as the MH71

Dude, how many pairs of shoes do you own exactly?

@staffer thanks for posting those. I like my U last shoes fine but don't think I would buy the last again. My next Vass will definitely be on the F but I may give the S a shot after that.

Question: Is the MTO service on Vass' site open the public now or is it only for returning customers? Thanks

Is the patch on the left red brown suede? Shoe is mid brown and burgundy suede on the right?

Got a pair of Vass today in the mail. They are the antique cordovan alt weins on the 3636 last. Had a few small defects, wanted to see what you guys thought about them.

I think those minor defects are negligible. I wouldnt say they are anything out of the ordinary to be honest. I know I would scuff and scratch my shoes so I dont mind minor imperfections.

Very true. The only one that's a little annoying is the long scar looking one on the vamp. Pic number 2 in the original post. Probably not something I'd return the shoes over, and in a few wears I'll be completely over it.

I agree at first its like WTF. I have been in your boat before and then I get over and realized that it was going to happen so whatever.

Is that scar superficial? or is deep in the leather? a bit hard for me to see even in the picture.

Hmm it definitely feels like an indent so I'd imagine it's deep in the leather. I can take a brush to it, but honestly I think I'll just leave it and put some cordovan cream on it in a few months or so after some wear.
