What color is this shell cordovan? Technically, you are not wrong if you remove that one letter.

Cigar. It's pretty dark (similar to recent Alden batches), but has some nice color variation. The cigar shoe I have is much lighter.

Anyone who wears a 41 in the U last, I've got a couple of pairs of BNIB for sale, navy austerity brogue and a dark brown cap toe - give me a shout if you want any more details and photos!

I had a pair in U-last size 10. They were unfortunately too narrow, and I got blisters on both toes after first wear...but my god were they beautiful and well made. Any lasts that could fit me? I'd need at least one "size" wider.

So get a U last in a wider width?

An update on my pair of plain OEII.

I've had this pair for about 2 months now. I wear it roughly once a week or once in two weeks, so not that much because I rarely wear formal clothes. I did find the shoes stiff in the beginning and it still is a bit even now. I think the thicker soles are not fully broken in yet. The leather, however, is very good, not as buttery as Edward Green but still easy to polish. I really like this pair because even though the soles are a bit stiff, they feel more substantial and more stable when you're walking. I didn't have any problems with creasing on the cap toes and frankly, I don't mind them at all. The welt on Vass shoes are also slightly thicker but that's what gives it its style and unless you're a size 5, it wouldn't look disproportionate. Quite happy with it. This pair is for life.

Yes, you're like me. 1/2 size larger. 42 will do.

How's the length? Could you drop a half size in length and go up a width? My reasoning being that a 10 wide might be too big in the heel and instep
