Dark brown or brown museum? Incredible depth if it isn't museum. My dark brown shoes surely don't look like that.

Regular calf, not museum. Very happy with how they turned out. They messed up the first attempt (put smooth calf and grain in the opposite locations from what I had requested. ) but all's well that ends well.

Classic Vass. As for the brown calf, this batch looks great. I've always been disappointed with Vass' dark brown color, but if this is how it's looking henceforth, I might consider dark brown instead of museum brown for some of my planned orders this year.

I spread around my Vass purchases but they still know me by name, Lol!

Don, I have this pair and some tall boots in dark brown and not is a very dark, rich bitter chocolate brown.

Interesting. The last time I ordered dark brown shoes from Vass (2011) the color was rather flat, basically the opposite to rich, deep and dark. I'll have to ask Reszö for a side-by-side picture of their dark brown and museum brown batches before I place my order.

Ask him to send you a leather swatch. He'll happily do it. Pictures are oftentimes misleading.

I tried a few cream / wax combinations on my leather swatch before deciding...

I'm sure the museum brown would look stunning. Good suggestion re swatches. I have found the museum to be a bit softer and more supple than their standard calf.

That's a great suggestion. Never thought of it. Once I'm about to order, I'll shoot Reszö an email asking for swatches from the current batch. Thanks.

Is museum calf less durable than regular calf? I am debating getting a museum calf chukka, but want something I don't have to baby
