No, it's not shell. Antique cognac calf.

So I just placed my first order via Ascot shoes. Absolute pleasure. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and running a great promotion which I want to put out here for other gents to take advantage of.

Option 1:
£450 GBP - excluding UK Tax for Non-EU clients (approx $695 USD)
+ £35 Shipping, Insurance & Online tracking.
1) Hand Made Vass shoes (on U, K and F Last)
2) Premium J&R Leather Sole.
3) Premium French Aniline Calf.
4) Original Vass dust bags and shoe box.

Option 2:
Everything in Option 1 and the 3 extra items below for
£495 GBP - excluding UK Tax for Non-EU clients (approx $769 USD)
+ £45 Shipping, Insurance & Online tracking.

1) Double leather sole tapered to single sole at the waist (£30 extra on its own) -
For 50-40% extra longer life on the sole. A full replacement sole from Vass cost $150 USD.

2) Flushed Steel toe caps (£30 extra on its own) - to help preserve the sole.

3) Hand made wooden Vass trees made on the same last as the shoes (£45 extra on its own)

Here's what I ordered:

F Last
Option 2
Oxblood

Fwiw, we include all of these "options" in our MTO price... also duties (which you will likely need to pay)

Out of curiously, why only certain lasts?

Great choice jk - Vass austerity brogues rock hard.
Just also noting that Vass 'Italian' last shoes are 420EUR plus 25EUR for trees and 20EUR for toe taps for any of their stock ranges in any standard leather (non-shell, non-exotic). That's ~£345 / $530 plus shipping. It also includes taxes, though I don't think there's any way to deduct those buying direct.

For MTO the Ascot prices start to look like a better deal. Not knocking them, but they do seem to charge 2x Vass prices for any of the extras like trees or toe taps...

After awwing over all the great vass shoes for many months in this thread. I finally decided to go ahead and place an order with Mr Kuti, who was amazing to deal with by the way.

I decided to make a copy of @RogerP oxblood double monks on the f last instead of the k last. Now the for the tough part the 6 week wait for them to be made.
