I wear 9uk in Green and 42,5 in Vass F Last. So, yes, you should take a 43,5.

U last is ok for people with wide feet and high instep, right? I'm assuming I can order in wider sizes.

Barrie: 7.5E
Bonafè 946: 7.5F UK
Carmina Rain: 7.5 UK

Would I be a 41.5 F in the U last?

I'm slightly wide at the ball of the foot and very high instep and find U fits me great. Some find it too narrow for their toes though (I dont, but some do)

F is standard width for Vass, so you'd want G width if u want a wide

I wear 9.5 in Lobb and 10 in Edward Greens. My width is normal. My US size is between 10.5 and 11 (10.75?)

Thanks

Those are my sizes in Carmina Forest and Rain and EG. 43.5 in the F last fits well.

Thanks so much for the feedback. Now I have to decide whether or not to spend the moola.

So the Vass lasts run slightly wider than say GG or EG, correct? Seems like a 41G or 41.5F would work for me. Will do some more digging.

If I can hit Budapest next month, I'll be so happy.

Yes. Slightly wider. But U last has not much toe space.

And if you plan to get country/none-dress shoes/boots, it doesn't hur to size up 0.5 to account for thicker socks. Unless you do plan to wear those with those bible paper thin dress socks.

My F calf shoe in the same 43 size is a little snug. For a shell shoe or boot on F, I'll definitely stick with 43, but I may go up to 43.5 for a calf boot next time.

For U, I'd stick with 43.5 for calf and shell shoes/boots and use thicker socks if needed. I'd be afraid of losing a toe if I sized down on U.

Thanks for the detailed response!

I wear 9 in Rain, Forest and Oscar last of Carmina.  42.5 in Vass (maybe 43.5 is to large).  I would recommend you to send your feet drawing to Mr. Rezso, he will advise you.

I'm a 6.5D in the Barrie and a 40 in the F last is too big for me. I think I'm a 39 or 39.5. Hope this helps.

Don't forget that Vass also offers H-width. My V-cap oxfords I posted earlier in the thread are H-width, and I'm impressed with how Vass was able to keep the proportions in line so the shoes didn't look fat. Just something to think about.
