gorgeous shoes man. what color did you ask for with the blue pair?

Haha...alas, they won't fit you.  And I asked for..er...blue!  They're a dark navy but kind of bling in bright light.  I'm wearing them to work today.  Because I can.

I've no idea as I've never before seen stitched-on Dainites from Vass and I didn't even ask for them. This makes me feel all comfy and mushy inside, though the stitches are all wonky and uneven.

Can anyone comment on Osloer insulating properties? In comparison with standard trekking shoes? Thanks

What do you guys think about this for a winter boot.

- Theresianer
- P2 or 3636
- Burgundy scotchgrain
- Vibram sole
- Storm welt

I want it big enough to put a thick insole in and to wear with a thick sock. I'm a 41/UK7F in the F and P2 so I'm thinking of getting a G width. How do you size 3636 compare to F and P2?

Sounds like a beast of a boot. Do you mean goyser? Vass can't do the storm welt bead
post #13226 of 20262
No, I meant storm welt. Didn't know Vass couldn't do that... That means that I'm back to fkat welt smile.gif
post #13227 of 20262
In beginning to enjoy the goyser welt. Another plus with the goyser welt is that it makes the boot about 1/4 - 1/2 sizes bigger eliminating the need to go up to a g width. Heh, heh?

Frank, I have the theresianer boot on P2 in dark brown shell with vibram soles, they are EXCELLENT. I've polished them with reno ONCE since I bought them 3 years ago and they are still going strong. I recently picked up a theresianer derby in bordeaux shell on P2 as well, but with Dainite soles. You can't go wrong with your choice, I've only seen the storm welt on my old NSTs that I had to sell frown.gif they're a great look

Received a wonderful pair of balmoral boots from Vass this Friday. Dark brown museum calf/dark brown suede on U last with single Dainite. Splendid in every way, only thing is they don't fit that well cry.gif  Don't think it will work in another size either (have two U last pairs but both of them have been modified quite a bit by cobblers to fit me, and don't think it will work with these for various reasons). So might have to put 'em up on Buy and sell, we'll see.

Some pics at least:

Wicked awesome. It's really too bad all the Vass lasts have high insteps. Still waiting for someone to buy an S-last!

You think?  I've worn two, nominally identical, 43G goyser welted shoes from new on consecutive days.  They might as well be completely different sizes - yesterday's was massive over the instep and generous around the toes, today's rather close on both counts.  They also have slightly different sole and heel arrangements, though supposed to be the same.  And neither what I actually asked for.

The joys of hand-made shoes and Vass communication...but damn, I love them!
