I agree the F last seems perfect for that style:

It's a different shoe.  Your F last pic is of an austerity brogue oxford.  The U last pic is of Vass's "River", which is basically a balmoral with the vamp and facing in one piece.  The patterns are fundamentally different, I guess they made the wing tip different too.  But even if they didn't, the more pronounced toe of the U and the smooth vamp and facing, is going to make it look proportionately shorter.

Fuck, I think you and I have really similar boot tastes. Was just corresponding with Reszo about getting a Galway-style, and I have a cigar shell U-cap bal boot in the works (inspired by you again no less). Sadly he just told me they're temporarily suspending any more shell orders right now tho :(

Anyone have any feedback about the Haas museum calf? How does durability and all that stack up to the normal Vass calf?

I just heard the same from Rezso. I was itching for a similar Galway. Goddamnit!

Did you make the same comment in the Meermin's thread attacking the guy that wanted a Galway style make up?

I'm not attaching him at all but thanks for your useless input. If you want a VASS style Galway and can't get it then another reasonable option would be to buy a Galway. They will be roughly the same price.

Suspending shell orders? Guess it wasn't a joke that NAMOR's orders used the remaining supply!

I guess my pair of oxfords were large enough to have chewed through the shell inventory. Sorry.

Gents,

Can we all agree that tone and humor are easily lost over text and just carry on with nerding out over shoes?

I did not take offense to his comment, for the record.

I have a EG Galway MTO in mind, but I'll save it for later. The price differential between EG MTO and Vass MTO was enormous, FYI, at least for me.

He might not want to pay $2k+ and wait 9 months for a goodyear-welted shoe, when he can wait 2-3 months and pay $1k for a handwelted-shoe.

Apparently expressing an opinion in a different thread automatically means I'm saying the exact same thing here despite them being different threads and me saying different things. Some people have more time than smarts
