Yes, I would prefer more mottled too. The photo makes it worse since the ambient light was quite strong, can't see the mottling effect very well.

Some of the recent dark brown from Vass has been very mottled, even more so than what I've seen from Lobb. It's hit or miss, as it's done by hand, and every piece is different.

On another note, when I've ordered wallets in Museum, the artisan was receptive to picking a part of the hide with the most distinct mottling. I wonder if Vass would offer the same courtesy if one was to ask?

Wurger's look like the same leather as mine; it's not Ilcea, which I think has more pronounced mottling. AFAIK Vass are going back to Ilcea for their museum

Giving my Dark Cognac leather boots a clean. The color looks especially rich in the sun and the K-last looks awesome as always (very underrated last in my opinion)

The new S-last is a square toe according to Vass. Bordeaux to the left and Bordeaux (plum) museum to the right.

more square than U or just different? U last doesn't work for me at all, it's just not wide enough in toebox.

Remains to be seen, but I somehow doubt that this new last will work for those who find U too confining.

Just attended the Super Trunk Show in Stockholm featuring Vass (apart from Meermin and Maftei). The S-last is definitely "wider at the toe" and quite square. The toe tip is thus a bit wider than the U. Understand? The last also seems to be a tiny bit more elongated than the U. I am 100% sure that my fellow countryman Jesper Ingevaldsson (of shoegazing.se) will give you all the details within 48 hours smile.gif

This. You'll have to wait for it in order to read a thorough review, clee1982. I didn't try the S-last as Vass didn't bring my size.

Thanks j ingevaldsson for making this trunk show happen.
