Hey guys, I just got my f-last shell bluchers today which are beautiful but I kind of feel like either I was shipped a wide pair of shoes or they gave me the wrong last since the f-last seems superwide. Wider than my u-last which is a size above and wider than my p2 last which is the same size. Also not even close to the EG 82 last or even the AE 5-last. Is this to be expected?
what other vass shell do you have?
Just the three.

F-last Antique Cognac Shell Budapester
F-last Oxblood Shell Longwing Blucher
P2 Whiskey Shell Blucher Boots

the U-last was the gold museum calf austerity brogue.

Added photo of toe boxes. Pardon the quality, it's night and had to use flash. I guess it looks more elegant than the P2 last in the pictures but it seems awfully wide at the ball. All are same size except the u-last is half a size larger.

FWIW I have two pairs of F-last in calf in the same size, one OE II and the other is a Chelsea. Annoyingly I'm finding the heel on the Chelsea to be a tad larger and does not hug the heel like the OE II's, there is some slight heel slippage also the overall vamp feels also slightly more roomy than the OE II. From what I've read on here people find shell vs calf in the same size may feel slightly bigger...I think it's a known fact that Vass can be slightly inconsistent with sizing, certainly from what I've experienced so far.

No shit, it's Chelsea boots. Vass is making them properly by increasing vamp space and heel slippage so you can slide your feet in.

Now let's hear how wingtip and captoes fit differently with the same last and blame Vass for it.

So I finally figured out the seem you guys were talking about on the boot...I did not realize that is the one being talked about. I remember when I first got them thinking that was a great thing to put a seem there so that the leather would not form that terrible looking crease you see in many boots in that area that run down to the sole.

Then again most around here have so many boots they probably never get worn enough to develop it....anyway the seam does not bother me at all but at least I feel part of the conversation now smile.gif

Wow hold your horses chogall - no need for the aggression. I should clarify the Chelsea I mean is not the boot but what has been used previously to call a particular version of toe cap Oxford as per http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u65/green-tea88/Sales%20Thread/GF1DBChelseaVassFLast14.jpg

Apologies for the confusion, no blame at Vass for anything here.

P2

Would never have pegged that as P2! The height of the toe looks almost buda-ish. Nice boots tho!

I was wondering the same, must be the angle.  Really original.

Don't think I've ever seen a chogall post that wasn't some combination of abrasive and offensive.
