The Ultimate Vass (Footwear) Thread (Pictures, reviews, sizing, etc...) - Page 806

post #12076 of 20222

There was a green museum boot (43, F last) available in the store a month or two ago. I liked the leather, but thought the suede would be a bit too much green in most light.

Two more for fun/inspiration...

Wow that green boot is a beautiful design Shannon anyone? @ThinkDerm

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who liked shoes without pinking. Very surprised it is easier to do since I haven't seen anyone do brogue without pinking besides Vass.

And nice shoes, thanks for sharing @rydenfan @Shouldaville. Love that Vass Green Shannon!

Also, I just received my austerity brogues today. Put in some tacco insoles and tongue pads and that helped a little but there's still slight bowing. Anyone else experience this? I think the U last requires a high arch as well as instep and a tongue pad wouldn't fix the bowing. Debating selling it before I try walking around in it. Doesn't feel like the heel slip is substantial, the width feels fine, and you can't see the bowing when I wear pants but I know the bowing means the shoe doesn't fit my foot right...

Can someone do me a favour and post a picture of all the different lasts? I swear I've seen one before but I can't seem to find it.

If r last is close to 64, what does p2 remind you of? 202? The slanting walls of r are much sleeker than p2. If only it was more elongated would give f last a run for it's money. I'm curious to see how it fits and provide more pics of this elusive last. Hopefully I'll have something to show end of Sep

I think r last looks better on wingtip than captoe. Ascot has 4-5 pairs on his eBay page

64 = R
202 = F
82 = P2
888 = U

Size 42, Peter last. Amazing leather - 1/2 size too small for me. frown.gif

If you are a 9 or narrow 9.5, do not sleep on these.

Price: $385 plus shipping, including box, bags, and trees.
Peter or P2?

Just got these beauties. It's my second pair of Vass and once again I am blown away by the quality. Like many others I can testify to that the museum leather truly is gorgeous in real life.

Beautiful.  Looking to create something like it on the U-last in the near future. Wear in good health.

Great. Now I am craving a pair of chukkas in green museum calf.

@ziggecg - welcome, and that is a beautiful pair.

Yeah the green is tempting!

I know this has been asked a million times but for P2 vs F Last which one has higher instep?

Would any of you guys, who owns/owned a pair of loafers, advice on the size? Is it reasonable to take a 1/2 size smaller than your usual size? I've got a 42 on U last and am going to get a F last loafer. Thanks in advance
