I like how prominent the white thread is - emphasizes the hand made nature of the shoes.

I had requested specifically for the white stitching - which I thought would be a nice contrast with the dark brown museum

Austerity version = without perforations? Don't think I've seen this style before. Mind sharing pics? :-)

Got these ordered before I knew that Ilcea was back in business (would've waited otherwise.)  However, I'm quite pleased w/ the outcome.  Looks really mottled.  I've also included a comparison picture w/ Meermin's plum museum calf from Haas (which looks more misty & subtle than mottled.)  At one point, Vass was using Haas for their museum calf, but then decided to change to Bonaudo (I believe it's the right decision.)

Can't wait to wear them.  This one will find its maiden voyage first thing Monday morning!

Stellar combo.

Will share pics when received. Should be a month or two. (I like austerity brogues, and like the v cap Adelaide, so I decided to mix the two)

Many funny thing happen here.
Vass HAF need build up and it more high than double or single sole,
it funny and not make sense but it look and feel right.
Double sole shoe balance different compare to single sole,
double need to rock and leave more than pencil depth (high) at end because double sole grind down quick if not done this way and feel off.
Why HAF need more high heel compare to double or single sole???
It very very funny and not make sense.
It seem very silly.
Me do Vass HAF.
Never again.
Feel bad,
look bad,
bad balance.

Personal question: do you have small feet?

Thanks gents.

@agedashidofu - this was essentially a replication of a custom order that Ascot had delivered to an earlier customer based on his specific design requests.  Credit goes to that unnamed gentleman - I just said "I'd like that, please."

@Ecstasy - This one is U last.  I have tried to put together the odd group photo - but it takes more time than I often have.  I have posted a group pic of my burgundy shoes before, and plan to do the same for the medium - light browns.

@Concordia - yes, you got it right - Ascot.  I see these basically replacing my black shoes for Spring and Summer daytime wear.  There's not an outfit I can think of where they wouldn't work as well or better.  I'll still wear the all-black to court, however.

A similar pair from Clairvoy

I think these are regular austerity brogues. What venividivici made was v cap austerity. Let's see how it comes out when he gets his shoes :-)

Sweet.

I am under the impression that the K last is narrower than the U last.

Anyone with K and U in the same size? Care to comment if the K last is narrower at the ball of the foot, or is just that the angle from the ball to the toe is even more severe?

If it is the former, then perhaps a K last with a single point increase in width may fit better than a standard U last for me.
