Vass HAF need build up and it more high than double or single sole,
it funny and not make sense but it look and feel right.
Double sole shoe balance different compare to single sole,
double need to rock and leave more than pencil depth (high) at end because double sole grind down quick if not done this way and feel off.
Why HAF need more high heel compare to double or single sole???
It very very funny and not make sense.
It seem very silly.
Me do Vass HAF.
Never again.
Feel bad,
look bad,
bad balance.

Me too think funny,
it obvious but still people denial, ignorance amazing!.

All picture of Vass HAF here look unbalanced.

Can you take side picture where we see it flat at eye level?

If the rain ever stops here, I'll try to get a comparative pic between these and a double-sole from that angle.

Though I don't know what purpose it would serve.  You have already declared that "All pictures of Vass HAF here look unbalanced." I can only assume you will declare the same for all such pics going forward.  Which is fine - you are more than welcome to your preferences.

Yes, ignorance is quite frequently - and amazingly - on display.

Ha ha. Public fora are hilarious. Mob mentality and hype cycles. People have been wearing and posting pics of HAF soled Vass shoes several years before most of the members commenting on them had even seen or heard of the brand. There are literally hundreds of posts and images in his thread alone. All of the sudden, HAF soles are the new grand evil plan on SF. What happened to gemming? It's just funny to watch. Combined with Millimetric Detail Syndrome (an epidemic on the forum for anyone until he reaches maturity), and we have a typical case of "forest for the trees"

Let me go slide a matchstick under mine to double-check...

Seriously though.  Calling people "ignorant" and throwing all that beautiful "knowledge" upon us isn't going to change the fact that 2 mm of raised toe is actually NOT an issue whatsoever. If anything, many shoemakers use lasts that are made to account for a slightly raised toe because it makes the stride easier and is less tiring for the foot.   There's been multiple discussions about it on this forum in the past.   I'm waiting to hear why the fact that there's a 2B pencil lodged under that sole is actually an issue that will affect the wearer negatively.

Please google image "edward green shoes", "koji suzuki shoes", "saint crispin shoes" (or whichever one you respect) and tell me if the sole is perfectly flat on the floor on those pictures.  Look at the profile pics and at the shadows.

Now, why is that 3mm toe rise an issue exactly?

If you like the way the HAF sole looks, and if you think you derive some utility from it vs. single or double, then go for it.  You're not going to get a scoliosis or sudden migraines because the toe is raised a couple mm.

Chill is the word for today.

This started out as a civil discussion, yes? Not sure how mob mentality fits here. There are obviously two different camps on this matter, and it is not like there are folks blindly following one another. Nothing wrong with hype cycles. New takes on an issue are always interesting to read. :-)

Is this the K last?! I am a bloody huge fan of this particular pair since I saw it a year ago...

Roger, you must have a ridiculous collection by now. Time for a Vash family photo, my good man. :-)
