Thanks for posting the comparison. I'd been looking for a clear side-by-side, as I'm trying to decide between F and U for a pair of OE II's. Leaning toward U (though yours look good on the F last).

Classic or more modern Italian look, big difference in style, but both nice.

Size also plays a part in the appearance as well. IMHO, F looks better in larger sizes while U may look too elongated for a larger size. In particular, the F last starts looking very stumpy below size 42.

Has comfort ever been a consideration? For the same size, my F last is a lot more comfortable than my U last. I get this feeling that I am wearing high heels when I am in my U last.

Take a weekend in Stockholm, Sweden, on September 20, where Vass together with Meermin and bespoke maker Maftei participate in a major trunk show.

More info in this thread.

Vass no RTW but more MTO or even Semi Bespoke without custom last, IMO
Me love VASSY too much
For me the best deal in world.
me fit like bespoke, no complaino, best leather, best all other materials, and all hand made, plus excellent customer service. No gimmick and bloated prices like other RTW with sub standard material masquerading as superior
me no like wear other shoes,
they gather dust
me sell them soon.

Me today

It looks fantastic. I'm sure it's incredible in direct sunlight too. I agree with you on Vass. I just got my first pair and could easily see myself buying exclusively from them in the future.

And what last, if I may ask? That's a great looking plain toe derby.

Beautiful shade of bordeaux. Would love to see in natural light, too.
