The Ultimate Vass (Footwear) Thread (Pictures, reviews, sizing, etc...) - Page 724

Oh if vass says they offer no8 then I'm sure they do, I know that in the past they only had 3 shell colors (black, bordeaux, antique cognac) which expanded with 3 more (cigar, saddle, whiskey). I guess i've just been outta the loop with all of vass's new leathers and stuff. Need me another vass injection to bring back the addiction.

Surely the issue is that Vass describe these colours using their own definitions (based on equivalent calf leather colours they use)?  "Bordeaux" is a Vass leather colour. "No.8" is a Horween shell colour.  And we know that within the latter there is always a range of variation.

First Vass... Theresianer New Peter. Had my eye on others, but got lucky when SVB posted this one in my size from the Epaulet SM closing.

We actually signed adoption papers on a little girl named Eva the same morning these were posted. I told my wife Vass's daughter is also named Eva and I was meant to buy these...yes, I received quite the eye roll.

Thank you @RogerP
for recommending them and for the spot-on sizing advice! Need to give a plug to No Man Walks Alone too for the great service and fast shipping.

Before wearing them for the first time, I was going to coat entire upper with Saphir or Collonil medium brown cream followed by Saphir wax on toe. Sound about right? Or should I apply Reno first?

How would people describe antique cognac? Is it a mid brown like above or is it a dark brown like the identical shoe shown on NMWA's website here?

Mid brown. Not dark brown at all.

I just got a pair in antique cognac shell. They're darker than my dark brown shell, almost like oxblood.

OK, please clarify if you are asking for antic cognac calf or shell color? They are different.

Could you post pics? Both are vass shoes?

Well, wonderful Theresianers. That's a great pair to start with.

And congratulations on the adoption. That's a momentous occasion,

That's interesting. Member stmaier received a pair of antique cognac shell that's definitely more of a mid brown.

beautiful collection but my favorite is the third!
