Yes, Vass will accommodate you for MTO's and even GMTO's. I have sort of the same issue with my left foot being about half a size larger than my right. arahat, who is running the Vass group buy thread, confirmed for me that Vass can make an odd-sized pair of shoes for me as part of a GMTO with no surcharge. Definitely good news as I don't think there are many shoemakers out there who are willing to do it without tacking on the standard MTO fee.

Excuse the cappy indoor light, The leather has some serious depth in the sunlight.

Oh man...those are marvelous! Even better than the stock photo. They look incredible with those trousers too. Definitely moved to the top of my wish list. Thanks for posting.

Those are indeed fantastic monks.

I did notice a design change from RogerP's pair, and the Epaulet pair. The straps are noticeably shorter and have hidden strap buckle pieces on the Epaulet pair (also seen on pairs from other SF member as well).

Which is the standard VASS double monk design? So that I can ask for the cleaner Epaulet design, if it is not the standard...

I gather mine are an older design - but as long as you send Vass (or whomever you are ordering from) a pic of the specific style you want, that should suffice.

Indeed! They look bullet proof too...well at least weather proof.

I've seen in other threads like Meermin for example where getting shoes shipped to Canada resulted in some pretty hefty duty fees. Has anyone in Canada ordered direct from Vass and can confirm if whether or not they've had a similar experience?

I can confirm the Meermin experience. 18% duty, 13% HST, and if you're really lucky, an added "brokerage fee" as the cherry on top. And because it's easier, most couriers apply to the duty to both the cost of the goods AND the shipping costs. Lovely.

If Vass ships by courier, I can almost guarantee a similar experience. Every time I have had shoes imported by courier, this has been the result - or worse. About 8 or 9 times out of 10 that I import by trackable post, the package has come to my door with nothing more to pay. Worth waiting a week, IMO.
