Awesome Notch, thanks! Nice to see videos from the making as well. How was the new workshop venue? Is the outside pick of the actual house? Also, are they leaving the original store location now (since the workshop was there as well) when they have both a new store and a new workshop?

I am considering ordering a pair of Vass gold museum calf double monks and I like the quite mottled museum calf that I have seen from John Lobb when they used Ilcea. Some of the recent pics of Vass museum calf seems more subdued and less mottled than I would like. I was wondering if that is a batch issue or Vass' preference or simply how the new supplier produces its museum calf. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

According to Rezso they are returning to Ilcea now when they are back in business, and the first new deliveries from them is due to the end of May/beginning of June. Much easier to work with just one tannery for the museum calf I guess, instead of three different ones as it's been this winter.

For those interested, here's my collection of cordovan wingtip boots. From left to right:
Vass Austerity boot, saddle.
Vass Wingtip boot, bordeaux.
Crockett & Jones Skye 2, dark brown.

Very nice collection.

Indeed, i wonder if Notch's pics were of Hass museum calf then.

Either way, that is exciting news, cause i liked the original IIcea museum a bit more. Here's hoping the new owners can replicate the original museum calf...

Super helpful information - thanks much. I will wait to place my order in June-ish so that I can get that Ilcea goodness. Much appreciated.

Can anyone of you give me the outer length of the sole of VASS U-Last shoes in size 42 and 42,5 ?

^^^ I believe NMWA posts measurements for their stock shoes.
