Shorter narrower and more snug that 3636. If you have wide foot I'd suggest you go up half a size...
Sorry I don't know the 3636 last. If I am 9D in Allen Edmonds Park Avenue, should I get size 42 in the Budapest last?

ive always avoided the norweger/dover-esque design. not a fan of split toe but i was really impressed how good the shoe looked. perhaps more a testament of Vass quality and design in general, but I was impressed nonetheless.

still have yet to own a pair of Vass. now ive seen firsthand what im missing out on

please do not use vass and dover in the same sentence. thanks.

i dunno, if you miss something out. but, when you're going austro-hungarian in rtw, vass is definitely something you should look into. not only, because their distribution to sf is well established through various channels.

good luck

there's a little story with a few abbreviations, i hope nobody minds i share it in a pron thread:

once a friend complained to me, that he wants a norweger and he cannot find one. well, i mentioned a few sources and makers... he looked at me as i would be crazy and said: man, didn't you listen. i want a norweger. i have been looking around for years in shops, workshops... ...nothing. he then told me: the norweger is one of the most difficult designs to get it right. in the meantime he owns a nice one gifted by his wife. he still doesn't think it's done right to his very own standards. the rest is history.

you should ask gdl203 for a picture of his vass norweger, u-last with goyserer welt. probably you can find it, as it has been posted several times on request. it's been a while, though.

dover - it's a nice pair of shoes, it's a dover. that's all.

The lack of an achilles stitch makes them so much nicer.

From what I've seen that is a the norm with Vass?

I'm pleasantly surprised (for my future pocketbook) that the Japanese have not caught on to Vass yet, as far as I know, because the details such as a seemless heel cup is right up their alley.
