Thinking of picking up this pair from NMWA, how does P2 fit relative to F last? P2 is wider right?

I took the same size on Rezso's recommendation. They fit very similarly, but with the P2 being slightly wider, and less elongated.

Six, sorry that the sizing didn't work out. Keep us informed about exchange? Where are u located and what size do you wear in other brands? I ordered a 44 that I need to pay for...long story.

I'm in the Bay Area.

Carmina: 10UK Simpson and Forest (balmorals); 9.5UK Rain, Robert, Forest (boots and bluchers), Oscar (boots)
G&G: 10UK TG73
EG: 10UK 888
Meermin: 9.5UK Olfe (I see you're selling your museum MTO's because they're too big. I got the same size and also should have gone a half size smaller.)

I sent Rezso an outline of my feet with measurements and gave him my EG size. He initially suggested 44.5, which I thought would be too big. He talked with one of the makers, who agreed that 44 would be big enough. Turns out I need to go a little smaller. It's not the end of the world. I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks, I needed f last in wide otherwise it's too long so probably going to try half size down on the p2 as it's easy returns

Dayum!  Are those oxblood? Very, very nice.

I believe so, on a temporary kop freeze but this one may break it

Only worried that the 3636 would be blobby, and look too casual.

Does anyone have the p2 and the 3636 vs the Barrie for a comparison shot, as a reference?

Thanks!

It's certainly a broad last. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - I have a pair of Alden shell captoes on the Barrie last and like the solid chunky look. But if that's not the look you're after, the 3636 may not be the last for you.

Lasts aren't inherently good or bad, better or best. It's primarily about what fits your foot, and secondarily about what fits your eye. What works for someone else may not work for you in either respect.

I would think that for larger sizes, blobbiness is less of an issue. For sizes larger than perhaps US10, I would just concentrate on whether the last suits the chosen design/style & colour of the shoes.

Are those sizes for an E (regular) width? If yes then I take the exact same size as you in Gaziano & Girling and Edward Green. I'm a UK10E on Carmina's Forest last in a boot. From all the reading I've done I'm surprised that a 44 in the U last was too large. Were they too large both in terms of length and width?

Please let us know how a 43.5 fits you when you get it. It would really help me to determine my size in Vass. By the way do you have any experience with the F last?

Yes all E. I thought there was a good chance that 44 would work, but as one of the guys at Alden SF put it, I have "low volume" feet, so it's sometimes hard to tell. And my left foot is a bit shorter than my right. In the case of the Vass that I got, the left shoe was long and the high instep of the last meant that it was generally loose. The right was better in length and volume but still not a good fit. I think a half size smaller will be fine once they've broken in.

No experience with F last. Good luck!

Same with me. I'm a US 10/UK9 in everything, but I take a 42.5 for vass due to the high instep of the F last and my 'low volume' I guess. (42.5 on both P2 and F lasts)

^ Thanks, venividivicibj. I guess I should evaluate whether I need to go down a full size.
