I do wear 10.5UK wide in Carmina Forest as well as 11UK if no wide is available. 11 isn't ideal, but it works without adjustments. We'll see. Hope we are both pleased.

I'm looking for a pair of high boot in cordovan, but Reszo told me they don't make cordovan boots now...
Very sad, does anyone have information about this ? Two members here ordered austerity brogue cordovan high boots in late 2012 with sucess. What was the "offer they couldn't refuse' ?



Beside that, which one of the brown cordovans do you recommand for an everyday pair (eventually with vibram soles) ?

Last year one time Rezso told me high boots are not possible, second time he took an order on austeity shell boots and offered at least 3 colors. So my suggestion is - this depends from the amount of shell they got, try every month and you'll get your boots.
I only don't understand why he doesn't simply tell clients to call leter.

I've read that shell is harder to work with, but for standard shoes they manage it very well...

You can drive yourself nuts with the sizing discussion on here. I have wide feet but only measure as a US10.5 to 11 on the shoe fitting device. However, I almost always buy a US 11.5 in dress shoes for the width (US 11 for slip ons though as they typicallys stretch a bit more and can't otherwise be tightened with laces). I wear a 10.5 normal width in C&J with the 337 being almost perfect and the 348 being a little snugger but not uncomfortably so.

I settled on a 45 for Vass on the F last. These fit fine. Captoe oxfords are a little snug, double monks are near perfect and bluchers are a little looser but very wearable.

Thanks. Trying to figure out sizing this way is a little maddening, though it really does help to be able to get feedback like this and the comments above from those who own shoes from a maker.

I realize how hard it is to give anything more than general advice when I try to do so myself.

Fortunately I didn't spend the rent money on these Alt Wiens and I don't need them for anything in particular (what would one need green shoes for?), so I can wait and see and post some photos when they arrive.

Nothing maddening about it....very straightforward for most feet.

US8=41/US9=42/US10=43....and so on. I have found Vass get confused when you use different sizing nomenclatures (US & UK) in discussions with them....one should always use european sizing with them while ordering.

Your attitude is a healthy one. My point was more about how challenging it is to reconcile each person's unique feet and associated sizing experiences with one's own. The process of ordering the shoes itself is, as you say, straightforward. I also did want to point out that, for a given last and size, different style of shoe might also fit slightly differently as that has been my experience.
